Job summary

Sunbelt Rentals is looking for a Trainee HGV Driver to join our expanding team in the UK. You will help ensure timely collections and deliveries from customer sites while meeting customer expectations.

Training will cover forklift and Hiab licensing, with emphasis on safety and regulatory compliance. You will visit customer locations, communicate with clients, and be guided to operate vehicles safely and efficiently.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid driving licence category B with no more than 6 points.
• Previous driving experience is desirable.
• Proactive approach to new training opportunities and ability to act on feedback.
• Proactive focus on safety of company vehicles and drivers; professional conduct when visiting customer premises.
• Good geographical knowledge; IT systems knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate commercial vehicles for timely collections and deliveries.
• Complete forklift and Hiab training as part of role.
• Ensure vehicle is safe and roadworthy; load/unload and secure cargo.
• Visit customer sites and communicate with internal and external customers.
• Adhere to legal and company safety requirements and the Working Time Directive.

About The Role

Are you ready to be a part of our rapidly developing business. We are looking for a talented Trainee HGV Driver to join our team to ensure timely collection and deliveries from customer sites whilst consistently meeting or exceeding customer expectations.
What will you be doing?

• Working towards gaining specialised knowledge and skills to operate commercial vehicles for the transportation of goods
• Complete training for a Forklift and Hiab license
• Ensuring the vehicle is safe and roadworthy before commencing any journey, as well as the safe loading, unloading and security of the vehicle load
• Visiting customer locations, communicating with both internal and external customers
• Ensuring that the legal and company safety requirements, alongside the working time directive regulations are adhered to at all time
