Job summary

SGN in Poole, Salisbury, Bournemouth, Weymouth and nearby areas is recruiting Trainee Gas Engineers. Training and equipment are provided to support you in repairing, replacing, and laying gas mains and services.

A valid UK driving licence and willingness to learn are essential. You will join a team on site, work in various outdoor environments, and participate in standby and overtime to keep gas supplies safe and reliable.

Qualifications

• Training provided to support engineers on site and learn essential gas service and mains repair activities.
• No prior experience required; full training and equipment provided.
• Clean shaven and able to pass face-fit test to wear PPE and breathing apparatus.
• Must hold a valid UK driving licence and be based within a commutable distance from the locations.

Responsibilities

• Support engineers on site during gas service and mains repair tasks.
• Assist with excavation, digging, and laying gas pipes in outdoor environments.
• Participate in standby/overtime for irregular hours to keep gas supply running.
• Maintain SGN vans and tools to ensure team safety and efficiency.
