Job summary

SGN is launching an Emergency Gas Responder Apprenticeship across the South of England, offering a 4-year programme. You will learn to work with our operations teams delivering gas to millions of homes and businesses, with travel and accommodation arranged as needed during training blocks.

You will attend college on block release with support from experienced engineers. Applicants should have 3 GCSEs A-C including Maths & English and must be able to commit to 3 years of training.

Qualifications

• You’ll have at least 3 GCSE grades A-C or equivalent including Maths & English
• You’re interested in developing your career in the gas network industry
• You’re able to commit to 3 years of training and education
• You have a can-do attitude and a passion for growing a successful career
• For the role and to participate fully in the development programme, we would prefer that you are able to drive. If you cannot drive already, you will be expected to pass your test within 6 – 12 months of joining us.

Responsibilities

• Installation of gas meters and regulators
• Responding to reported gas emergencies
• Installation & maintenance of gas networks
• Promoting health and safety in gas service/repair activities
