Job summary

SGN is launching an Emergency Gas Responder Apprenticeship across Southern England. The 3-year programme trains you to become a Gas Engineer, with college block releases and on‑site learning.

You will work under experienced engineers to gain Gas Safe registration (CESP 1, MET4, TPCP1A, REGT1) and a future role within SGN. Candidates must have Maths and English GCSEs (A*-C) and be able to drive, with travel to training centres as needed; relocation support is provided where required.

Qualifications

• At least 3 GCSEs A*-C including Maths and English.
• Willingness to commit to up to 3 years of training and education.
• Must be able to drive and obtain test within 6–12 months.

Responsibilities

• Respond to reported gas emergencies.
• Install and replace gas meters.
• Install, test and commission internal gas pipework.
• Promote health and safety in gas service/repair activities.
