Job summary

SGN is seeking Trainee Gas Engineers to work across Poole, Salisbury, Bournemouth, Weymouth and surrounding areas. You’ll receive full training and equipment to repair, replace and lay gas mains and services; no prior experience required.

You’ll learn on site with experienced engineers and help keep customers safe and warm. This role includes on‑call standby and overtime and requires a clean shaven appearance, a valid UK driving licence, and willingness to work shifts including weekends and

Qualifications

• No prior gas engineering experience required; full training provided.

Responsibilities

• Support engineers on site and learn from them daily during gas service and mains repair activities.
• Excavation, digging in public & private highways, laying and repairing gas pipes as part of a team.
• Be part of essential works to keep gas supply running; standby and overtime opportunities apply for irregular hours.
• Maintain SGN vans and tools before and after each job to ensure the team has equipment to work safely.
