Warwickshire College Group in Rugby is recruiting a Trainee English Lecturer to join the English & Maths department. The programme combines hands-on teaching with paid training over three years, leading to teaching qualifications and real teaching experience.

You will train while you teach, develop materials, and collaborate with mentors to support students and maintain high standards across courses and college expectations.

Formación

• Willing to undertake teacher training and gain QTS.
• Level 3 English qualification or equivalent in related subject.
• Strong IT and admin skills to manage documentation.
• English language knowledge and skills for teaching.

Responsabilidades

• Teaching – Deliver high-quality Maths teaching as part of a structured 3-year progression model.
• a. Year 1: 15 teaching hours per week
• b. Year 2: 18 teaching hours per week
• c. Year 3: 21 teaching hours per week
• Teacher Training and Qualifications – Complete the Award in Education and Training in Year 1.
• b. Complete the Diploma in Teaching during Years 2 and 3.
• Preparation and Assessment – Develop and produce teaching materials as required, alongside relevant paperwork.
• Mentoring and Peer Support – Work with mentors and a teaching buddy and peer group.
• CPD and Non-Contact Time – Utilise non-contact hours for CPD and team teaching.
• Administration – Undertake admin tasks under the line manager.
• Quality Systems – Engage with college quality processes including observations.
• Health and Safety – Maintain a safe working environment per policy.
• Safeguarding – Safeguard and promote welfare of children and at-risk adults.
• A minimum Level 3 qualification in English (or related subject).
• Willingness to undertake courses to gain Teacher Training Qualification.
