Job summary

Encirc, part of the Vidrala group, is hiring a Trainee Engineer for our Bristol site. You will join a multi-disciplinary team, receiving structured training to support the operation, maintenance and continuous improvement of bottling and filling lines.

The role focuses on learning production line operations, equipment maintenance and safety practices, with opportunities to grow into a fully competent engineering professional within our lean culture.

Trainee Engineer | Permanent | Bristol | Salary: Dependent on experience

As a Trainee Engineer, you will be a developing member of a multi-disciplined team, working towards becoming fully competent in supporting the operation and maintenance of high-performing production lines. Through structured training, coaching, and practical experience, the Trainee Engineer will develop the skills and knowledge required to support product quality, line performance, continuous improvement activities, and engineering maintenance, while embracing the site's lean culture and operational philosophy.

We are specifically looking for someone who has background knowledge of working in a Production Hall and understanding of the bottling and filling process and operation

Responsibilities:

• Learn and develop an understanding of production line operations, engineering systems, and business processes.
• Work alongside experienced Engineers and Production teams to support the safe and efficient operation of production lines.
• Participate in training and development activities to build technical knowledge, practical skills, and engineering competence.
• Assist with the operation, monitoring, and basic maintenance of assigned equipment and plant.
• Contribute positively within a self-reliant team environment while developing effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Assist in identifying machinery faults and support root cause investigations under the guidance of qualified Engineers.
• Participate in maintenance activities, machine improvements, and planned shutdowns or annual overhauls.
• Learn and apply critical machine settings and maintenance practices to support line efficiency and reliability.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute ideas to improve plant performance and business processes.
• Maintain high standards of safety and learn the requirements for testing, monitoring, and documenting safety equipment.
• Develop the skills and knowledge required to become competent in operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting production equipment.
• Provide support to other teams or Engineers as required to meet business needs and broaden personal experience.
• Actively engage with Shift Managers, Engineers, and colleagues regarding Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) generation, review, and improvement.
