Job summary

Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is offering an Education Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP) training opportunity across Berkshire. You will work in MHSTs with schools, delivering early interventions under supervision and contributing to whole-school mental health approaches.

The 12-month training begins January 2027, leading to qualification as an EMHP. Applicants should have degree-level capability with relevant child development or mental health experience, and be committed to

Qualifications

• Ability to study at Level 6 (e.g. Level 5 studies, or pre-entry essay).
• Literacy and numeracy qualifications at Level 2 or higher; degree-level ability with honours 2.2+; evidence required for lower grades.
• If no degree, provide evidence of Level 6 study or partial honours.
• Experience working with children/young people for at least one year.
• Some experience in mental health or education settings.
• Strong communication, IT & organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Work within a cluster of schools and colleges.
• Deliver early mental health interventions under supervision.
• Support schools to promote emotional wellbeing.
• Collaborate across education and healthcare settings.
• Train under a 12-month programme starting January 2027.
