Job summary

East of England Community Health & Care NHS Trust is recruiting a Trainee Education Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP). You will train on a one-year Band 4 contract, delivering CBT-informed guided self-help to children and young people in educational settings, while studying for a funded Diploma at the University of East Anglia.

Successful candidates join a dynamic MHST team across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, with progression to a Band 5 EMHP contract after completing requirements, including

Qualifications

• Must demonstrate ability to work at degree level or have equivalent experience with evidence of learning in child development, wellbeing, psychology or education.
• Experience working with children and young people; understanding of England education system is desirable.
• Must hold a FULL valid driving licence and have access to a vehicle for travel to multiple schools.

Responsibilities

• Deliver evidence-based interventions for children and young people in education settings.
• Support more severe cases to access specialist services when needed.
• Assist education staff to identify and manage mental health and wellbeing issues.
• Evidence progression towards an academic qualification and practical application.
• Maintain accurate records and data collection for service governance.
