Job summary

CareTech Group in Worcestershire, UK is seeking a motivated individual to join as a Trainee Children’s Registered Manager, progressing from Deputy Manager or Team Leader roles in children’s residential care. You will learn the ins and outs of running a home while staying hands-on with the young people and team.

This role offers mentoring, funded Level 5 leadership training, and a clear pathway to becoming a Registered Manager, with ongoing support and development to help you succeed.

Qualifications

• Level 3 in Children’s Residential Care is essential; Level 5 Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare is funded and supported.
• Knowledge of Ofsted and residential childcare regulations.
• Driving License: Full UK required.

What the Role Looks Like

You’ll work closely with the Assistant Regional Manager, an experienced Registered Manager, learning the ins and outs of running a successful children’s home while still staying hands‑on with the young people and team.

No being stuck behind a desk all day - we want someone who enjoys building relationships, creating positive experiences for young people, and leading a team that genuinely cares.

You’ll be involved in:

• Supporting the day-to-day running of the home

• A Deputy Manager ready for more responsibility
• A Team Leader wanting a clear progression path

Essential Requirements and Experience

• Relevant Experience: At least 2 years in a position related to residential care of children, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role within the last 5 years.
• Qualifications: Level 3 in Children's Residential Care is essential. We will fund and guide you through Level 5 in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare.
• Knowledge of Ofsted and residential childcare regulations
• Confidence leading shifts and supporting staff
• The drive to learn and progress
• Driving License: Full UK required.
