Job summary

Cambian in Hereford is seeking an OFSTED-registered manager to lead a children’s residential service on a permanent, full-time basis. The role emphasizes safeguarding, quality of care, and ensuring programmes meet each young person’s needs.

You will oversee admissions, daily activity planning, and team leadership, with a strong focus on continuous improvement and family involvement. A competitive salary and benefits package are offered.

Qualifications

• Level 3 in Children’s Residential Care is essential.
• Level 5 Leadership and Management in Residential Childcare is preferred or to be enrolled within 6 months.
• Full UK driving licence is required.

Passionate about making the difference to the lives of young people in care.

Relevant Experience: At least 2 years in a position related to residential care of children, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role within the last 5 years.

Qualifications: Level 3 in Children’s Residential Care is essential.

Level 5 in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare is preferred at point of application, if not then you must be enrolled on the Level 5 within 6 months of starting in post.

Knowledge: Understanding of The Quality Standards, SCCIF, childcare legislation, and regulatory requirements.

Skills: Efficient in; planning, organizing, budget control, resource allocation, and team leadership.

Communication: Confidence in effective spoken and written communication.

Understanding Trauma: Knowledge of the needs of children with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties, including managing challenging behaviour.

Driving License: Full UK required.
