Job summary

The Cambian Group seeks an OFSTED Registered Manager to lead a Children’s Residential service in Hereford. You will oversee intake and assessment, admissions, and daily programmes, guiding a skilled team to deliver exceptional care aligned with regulatory standards.

Essentially, you will have 2+ years in residential care, with supervisory experience, and hold Level 3 qualification in Children’s Residential Care; Level 5 leadership is preferred with ongoing development plans.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years in residential care of children, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
• Level 3 in Children's Residential Care is essential.
• Level 5 Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare is preferred or enrolled within 6 months of starting.
• Knowledge of The Quality Standards, SCCIF, childcare legislation and regulatory requirements.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Oversee intake and assessment processes for children.
• Manage planned and emergency admissions and bridging placements.
• Provide stimulation and opportunities through daily programmes tailored to meet individual needs.
• Lead and develop a capable team within a supportive setting.
• Ensure service delivery meets regulatory standards and quality targets.

Relevant Experience: At least 2 years in a position related to residential care of children, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role within the last 5 years.

Qualifications: Level 3 in Children’s Residential Care is essential.

Level 5 in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare is preferred at point of application, if not then you must be enrolled on the Level 5 within 6 months of starting in post.

Knowledge: Understanding of The Quality Standards, SCCIF, childcare legislation, and regulatory requirements.

Skills: Efficient in; planning, organizing, budget control, resource allocation, and team leadership.

Communication: Confidence in effective spoken and written communication.

Understanding Trauma: Knowledge of the needs of children with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties, including managing challenging behaviour.

Driving License: Full UK required.
