Job summary

Cambian Group Plc in Hereford is seeking an OFSTED Registered Manager to lead a residential care service for children and young people. You will be part of a supportive leadership team, ensuring high-quality care, regulatory compliance, and continuous service improvement.

The role requires strong people management, budget control, and a focus on safeguarding, with a commitment to developing successors through formal training and development programs.

Qualifications

• Passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people in care.
• Experience: at least 2 years in residential care with at least 1 year in a supervisory role in the last 5 years.
• Level 3 in Children's Residential Care is essential; Level 5 in Leadership and Management preferred at application or enrolled within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a residential care team to deliver high-quality care.
• Ensure compliance with The Quality Standards, SCCIF, childcare legislation and regulatory requirements.
• Plan and control budgets, allocate resources, and drive continuous improvement across services.
• Foster effective communication with children, families, and staff to support positive outcomes.

Essential Requirements and Experience

• Passionate about making the difference to the lives of young people in care.
• Relevant Experience: At least 2 years in a position related to residential care of children, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role within the last 5 years.
• Qualifications: Level 3 in Children's Residential Care is essential. Level 5 in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare is preferred at point of application, if not then you must be enrolled on the Level 5 within 6 months of starting in post.
• Knowledge: Understanding of The Quality Standards, SCCIF, childcare legislation, and regulatory requirements.
• Skills: Efficient in; planning, organizing, budget control, resource allocation, and team leadership.
• Communication: Confidence in effective spoken and written communication.
• Understanding Trauma: Knowledge of the needs of children with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties, including managing challenging behaviour.
• Driving License: Full UK required.
