Job summary

Cambian Group Plc is seeking a Trainee Children’s Registered Manager in Birmingham to develop into a future Registered Manager. You’ll work alongside an experienced manager, staying hands-on with young people while gradually assuming leadership responsibilities.

We provide mentoring, funded Level 5 leadership training, and a clear progression path. This role offers a supportive team environment and opportunities for growth within children's residential care.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in residential care for children with at least 1 year in a supervisory role within the last 5 years.
• Knowledge of Ofsted and residential childcare regulations.
• Full UK driving license.

What the Role Looks Like

You’ll work closely with the Assistant Regional Manager, an experienced Registered Manager, learning the ins and outs of running a successful children’s home while still staying hands-on with the young people and team.

No being stuck behind a desk all day - we want someone who enjoys building relationships, creating positive experiences for young people, and leading a team that genuinely cares.

You’ll be involved in:

Supporting the day-to-day running of the home

Helping lead and motivate the team

Working alongside professionals, families, and external agencies

Learning everything you need to progress into a Registered Manager role

Essential Requirements and Experience

• Relevant Experience: At least 2 years in a position related to residential care of children, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role within the last 5 years.
• Qualifications: Level 3 in Children's Residential Care is essential. We will fund and guide you through Level 5 in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare.
• Knowledge of Ofsted and residential childcare regulations
• Confidence leading shifts and supporting staff
• The drive to learn and progress
• Driving License: Full UK required.
