Job summary

Cambian, part of the CareTech family, invites a Registered Manager to lead a two-bed Children’s Complex Care home in Middlesbrough. You will develop care plans, lead a team, and ensure compliance with standards. A passion for improving outcomes for young people is essential.

Entry salary £45,000 - £50,000 DOE plus a £5,000 annual bonus and ongoing development opportunities through our Leadership Academy.

Qualifications

  • Experience developing tailored care plans addressing education, social, emotional and health needs.
  • Proven ability to build and retain a strong team with induction and development plans.
  • Knowledge of The Quality Standards, SCCIF and childcare legislation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop Comprehensive Care Plans tailored for each young person.
  • Build a strong team with recruitment support and induction programmes.
  • Foster consultation with young people about the care they receive.
  • Allocate a Key Worker to implement each child’s plan.
  • Maintain high standards aligned with National Minimum Standards and the home’s purposes.

Join Cambian as a Registered Manager in Middlesbrough and make a lasting impact people as part of our team., As a Registered Manager our expectation is that your home will be rated as at least "Good" by Ofsted This is a two bedroom brand new Children's Complex Care Ofsted home, where you will:

  • Develop Comprehensive Care Plans: Ensure each young person has a tailored plan that addresses their care, education, social, emotional, cultural, therapeutic, and health needs.
  • Develop a great team: Working with the recruitment teams support, bring in the right people for your home to ensure your success. Complete company induction and personal development plans, retaining a strong team to ensure familiar faces for the young people.
  • Foster Consultation: Develop systems to consult young people about the care they receive.
  • Allocate Key Workers: Assign a Key Worker to each young person to implement their childcare plan.
  • Maintain High Standards: Establish and monitor high-quality care standards in line with National Minimum Standards and the Home's Statement of Purpose.
  • Handle Complaints and Concerns: Take responsibility for addressing any complaints or child protection concerns.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work in partnership with parents, carers, and other professionals to promote the welfare of young people.
  • Participate in Meetings: Attend and contribute to child care planning and review meetings as appropriate.
  • Embrace a safe culture: Ensure the children in your service are cared for at the best possible standard.
  • Effective Commercial Management of your home: Ensure you manage your home aligned to budget expectations.

  • Relevant Experience: At least 2 years in a position related to residential care of children, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role within the last 5 years.
  • Qualifications: Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent), or willingness to start within 6 months of employment.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of The Quality Standards, SCCIF, childcare legislation, and regulatory requirements.
  • Skills: Efficient in; planning, organizing, budget control, resource allocation, and team leadership.
  • Communication: Confidence in effective spoken and written communication.
  • Understanding Trauma: Knowledge of the needs of children with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties, including managing challenging behaviour.
  • Driving License: Full UK required.

    Entry salary £45,000 - £50,000 per annum DOE
