Job summary

Arriva UK Bus Ltd is looking for enthusiastic Bus Drivers to join their dedicated team at the Thurmaston depot in England. As a Bus Driver, you'll be responsible for ensuring safe transport for customers in the community. Full training, including obtaining your PCV licence, is provided to all new drivers. Flexibility in shift patterns will be essential, along with excellent customer service skills.

Pay Structure During Training and After

• During Training (the first 4-6 weeks) – £13.45 per hour
• After Training With Mentor: Monday to Friday – £14.90 per hour
• Monday to Friday (After 6pm) – £15.35 per hour
• Saturday – £15.80 per hour
• Sunday – £16.70 per hour
• Monday to Friday – £16.55 per hour
• Monday to Friday (After 6pm) – £17.05 per hour
• Saturday – £17.55 per hour
• Sunday – £18.55 per hour
• Pay rates reviewed via frequent pay negotiations.

What’s in it for you?

Full paid training where you'll receive your PCV licence – you'll go through our Arriva Training School and learn everything you need to know about being a Bus Driver. The training generally last approximate 4 weeks and will take place at our Thurmaston depot, before you then work with a mentor for a further few weeks.

Hours of Work

5 out of 7 rotating shift patterns, planned up to 6-8 weeks in advance so you can plan around shifts.

The rota currently has 1 in 3 weekends off with approximately. With 1 in 6 being a long weekend, consisting of Thursday, Friday Saturday and Sunday.

Mornings starting from 04:00 with Evenings finishing by 01:30 on a rotational basis.

We cannot offer fixed early, afternoon or evenings separately.

Overtime available at request / availability.

Requirements

• Must be over 18 years of age
• Have been driving for a minimum of 6 months
• No more than 6 points on your licence
• Can pass a drug and alcohol test
• Great people and customer service skills
• Flexibility to work shifts

• Free to use staff bus operates a route around Leicester in the mornings and evenings to get drivers to and from work at those early start times and late finishes
