Job summary

Arriva Group is recruiting bus drivers to serve the Thurmaston depot, providing reliable transport for commuters, shoppers, and students. You will meet familiar faces on routes and contribute to a friendly, community-focused service.

Pay is £14.90–£18.55 per hour, with mentoring and after-mentoring pay scales. Overtime, CPC training, career progression, staff perks, and a transparent pay review process are highlighted. A strong customer-service mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• Must be over 18 years old.
• Hold your PCV licence (if you don't, please apply to the Trainee role and we can give you all the paid training you need)
• No more than 6 points on your licence
• Can pass a drug and alcohol test
• Great people and customer service skills
• Flexibility to work shifts

• Drive bus routes and engage with customers to ensure safe, on-time journeys.
• Support community transport needs and contribute to a friendly, helpful service.

Pay Rate: £14.90 - £18.55 per hour

Pay Rate: £14.90 - £18.55 per hour

During Mentoring

• Weekdays: 14.90 per hour (£15.35 after 6pm)


• Saturday: £15.80 per hour


• Sunday £16.70 per hour


• Bank Holiday: £16.70 per hour

After Mentoring

• Weekdays - £16.55 per hour (£17.05 after 6pm)


• Saturday - £17.55 per hour


• Sunday - £18.55 per hour


• Bank Holiday - £37.24 per hour

Pay rates reviewed via frequent pay negotiations.

Hours Of Work

• 5 out of 7 rotating shift patterns, planned up to 6-8 weeks in advance so you can plan around shifts.


• Mornings can start from 04:00 with the Evening finishing by 01:30.


• The rota currently has 1 in 3 weekends off with approximately. With 1 in 6 being a long weekend, consisting of Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday. (This is may change if the needs of the business require it.)


• We cannot offer fixed early, afternoon or evenings separately.


• Overtime available at request / availability.
