Job summary

West Coast Motors (Bute) on the Isle of Bute is seeking Trainee Bus Drivers to join our team at the depot. Full and part-time opportunities are available, and you’ll begin with in-house training paid up to £2,500 to cover theory and practical tests, travelling costs and accommodation where applicable.

We will support you throughout your training journey and provide ongoing development after achieving your PCV licence.

Qualifications

• Customer service mindset and safety focus.
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a hands-on role.
• Patience and ability to work confidently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and a safe, comfortable journey for passengers.
• Be patient and able to work confidently on your own.
• Handle cash and card payments responsibly.
• Be a key worker in the local community to take customers to their destination safely and on time.

West Coast Motorsis a privately owned family business established in the early 1920's. We operate buses and coaches on a mix of school contracts, local services, school and private group hires across Argyll with local depots in Glasgow, Campbeltown, Ardrishaig, Oban, Mull, Bute and Dunoon.

We have a fantastic opportunity for Trainee Bus Drivers to join our team based at our depot on the Isle of Bute.

We have our very own in-house training school, and we will cover the cost of your training up to the value of £2,500 which includes your theory and practical tests, travelling expenses and accommodation*. We will support and guide you through your training journey and provide ongoing training once you achieve your PCV licence.

Requirements:

• A full endorsement free driving licence
• At least one year driving experience
• Enthusiastic and willing to learn
• Live on the Isle of Bute
