Job summary

Arriva Group in Dewsbury is inviting applicants to join our team as Bus Drivers. You will receive full training to obtain your PCV licence at the Arriva Training School, followed by mentorship while you settle into your new role.

Expect shifts from early mornings to evenings with weekly patterns, overtime options, and clear progression into management or expert driver tracks. Competitive hourly pay and employee benefits support your work-life balance.

As one of our Bus Drivers you’ll provide important services to hospitals and universities across the county.

Pay Rate: £13.75 - £16.00 per hour

£13.75 per hour - During training and mentoring (around 8 weeks).

£14.00 per hour - 6 months probation period.

£16.00 per hour - after successful probation completion.

Pay rates reviewed via frequent pay negotiations.

The training generally last approx. 4 weeks and will take place at our Dewsbury depot, before you then work with a mentor for a further few weeks.

Hours Of Work

• 5 out of 7 rotating shift patterns, planned up to 6-8 weeks in advance so you can plan around shifts.
• Mornings starting from 04:00, Afternoons start from 12:00 and Evenings from 18:00 on a rotational basis.
• We cannot offer fixed early, afternoon or evenings separately.
• Overtime available at request / availability.

Requirements

• Must be over 18 years of age
• Have been driving for a minimum of 6 months
• No more than 6 points on your licence
• Can pass a drug and alcohol test
