Job summary

TC Group is looking for a full-time Trainee Auditor to join their Steyning office's audit team. This role offers the opportunity to develop skills while conducting audits and preparing accounting analyses in a relaxed environment.

Successful candidates will benefit from a full training package, pension scheme, and a hybrid working model once established in the role. Ideally, candidates should have GCSEs in Maths and English, strong communication skills, and a logical approach to tasks.

Qualifications

Candidates should ideally have GCSEs in Maths and English (Grades 4+) and A-Levels or equivalent qualifications.

Must have a full driving licence and access to a car.

Responsibilities

About the Trainee Auditor role

Our Steyning office is looking for a full‑time Trainee Auditor to join the audit team.

Key responsibilities

Initially part of a larger team before taking on individual responsibility for clients; in time have own client portfolio
Conduct audits as part of a wider team, ensuring appropriate and sufficient documentation is obtained to support the audit opinion
Accounts preparation
Prepare analysis of accounting data from clients' books and records
Involvement in the planning, execution and finalisation of the audit assignment supporting the audit manager
Ensure compliance with internal (audit methodology and risk management) and external (regulatory) requirements
Identify and understand client needs, providing initial solutions to client challenges, then communicating these needs and solutions to the audit manager
Build strong relationships with new and established clients
Carry out ad hoc assignments as may be reasonably required
Travel to local and national clients on a regular basis

About you

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

Dynamic individuals with a positive 'can do' attitude
Ideally you will have either GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English (Grades 4 and above), A-Levels in either Mathematics, Business or Economics, AAT or similar qualification
Highly personable with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Logical approach and good with numbers
