An exciting opportunity has arisen for Trainee Associate Respiratory Practitioner posts based in the Respiratory Physiology Unit at Glenfield Hospital, Leicestershire.

If you are scientifically minded with appropriate qualifications and have experience working with the general public, this is an ideal chance to train and develop while completing a Level 4 Respiratory Apprenticeship.

These posts require individuals to be enthusiastic, motivated, and possess excellent communication and organizational skills, along with a keen eye for detail and the ability to accurately record and input information.

The trainee will be responsible for performing routine spirometry, pulmonary function tests, reversibility studies, ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, and sleep diagnostics. Administrative work and infection prevention within these clinical areas are also part of the role.

No previous experience is necessary, as full training will be provided. However, candidates should demonstrate an understanding of the role. Interested applicants are encouraged to visit the department.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Perform a range of respiratory, sleep, and blood pressure investigations to a high standard.
  2. Assist senior colleagues in other physiological measurements, such as cardio-pulmonary exercise testing.
  3. Maintain and control stock of patient equipment like nebulisers, CPAP, and NIV.
  4. Ensure equipment and resources meet required standards, adhering to health, safety, and infection prevention policies.
  5. Maintain technical accuracy of equipment, ensure quality test procedures, and produce accurate reports.
