Job description

We have an exciting opportunity at Derbyshire Recovery Partnership Substance Use Service for someone who is passionate about starting their career as a Trainee Alcohol Practitioner. The role will be working within the Ilkeston area of Derbyshire, working 22.5 hours per week..

The Role

As a trainee, the role will involve developing the skill set, knowledge and competencies to become an Alcohol Practitioner, via a mixture of training, coaching and practice-based learning. The role will involve offering a range of alcohol related harm reduction interventions and structured key working to support people on your caseload to address their alcohol use.This will involve providing one-one support to individuals recovering from alcohol dependency and assist them in reducing their use by appropriate involvement of other specialist teams including Alcohol Non-Medical Prescribers, Community Recovery Connectors and rehab leads. You will be supporting individuals across the Erewash area, as well as providing some hospital in-reach support to patients at Royal Derby Hospital.You will support people on your caseload in an individual and person-centred way to achieve positive outcomes.

This role will be based at our Ilkeston office in the Erewash region of Derbyshire, working 22.5 hours per week over 3 days (ideally Monday, Tuesday and Friday), on a 6-month fixed term contract. There may be an opportunity to apply for Alcohol Practitioner vacancy within the service at the end of the fixed-term contract.

We are keen to hear from anyone with experience of working within the field of drug and alcohol use, and/or has lived experience, or from someone who may not have experience with drugs/alcohol but is very motivated and passionate about recovery and supporting others.

A comprehensive alcohol and intervention training will be facilitated within your induction.
