University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust is offering a development post for a HCPC-registered Diagnostic Radiographer to join the Ultrasound Workforce Development Programme.

The role starts as a Band 6 Radiographer within the General X-Ray service at Rugby St Cross Hospital for a minimum of 12 months before commencing formal ultrasound training, with progression through a structured postgraduate pathway toward autonomous Sonographer practice.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration as a Diagnostic Radiographer with a minimum of 2 years post-graduate experience at application.
• Candidates without HCPC registration will not be eligible for this position.

Responsibilities

• Work within the General X-Ray Service at Rugby St Cross Hospital for a minimum of 12 months, providing a high-quality diagnostic imaging service.
• Perform a range of general radiographic examinations, ensuring safe and effective patient care.
• Support imaging department across wider services, including theatre and emergency imaging where appropriate.
• Develop clinical knowledge, skills and experience to progress onto the Ultrasound training pathway.
• Maintain HCPC registration and engage in continuous professional development.
• Participate in departmental rotas, including out-of-hours and on-call duties where required.
• Progress to postgraduate ultrasound training and supervised clinical practice toward qualification as an Advanced Practitioner Sonographer.
