Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting for a Band 7 Sonographer to join the Ultrasound team. You will deliver a comprehensive imaging service, maintain high standards, and participate in audits.

The role requires a Graduate Radiographer with a Post Graduate Diploma in Medical Ultrasound and HCPC registration, plus obstetric ultrasound qualifications. The department has a strong emphasis on training and professional development within NHS guidelines.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills with patients, relatives and health professionals.
• CASE accredited Pg Dip in Medical Ultrasound or CASE-equivalent.
• State registration with the HCPC is required.
• Postgraduate qualification in obstetric ultrasound is expected.
• Nuchal translucency accreditation is desirable.
• MSc in Medical Ultrasound or equivalent training.

Responsabilités

• Take responsibility for the welfare and comfort of the patient in the radiology department during ultrasound.
• Provide high-standard ultrasound work and ensure quality and safety standards are met.
• Support and mentor radiographers, sonographers and student sonographers as needed.
• Lead in clinical practice development within the ultrasound department and participate in audits.
