Job summary

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Trainee AAA Screening Technician to support the National Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Screening Programme. The role includes training through a Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care, performing ultrasound scans in community clinics across Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Berkshire, and travelling as needed.

Driving licence and willingness to travel are essential.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with data entry.
• Understanding of hospital environment and patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Train as a technician and perform abdominal ultrasound scans.
• Work as an assistant practitioner before independent practice after NAAASP course.
• Organise and carry out ultrasound scans of the abdominal aorta.
• Communicate results and provide information to patients.
