Job summary

Chevron, part of Ramudden Global UK, is hiring a Traffic Management Operative (Trainee) to join our team in Stanton Harcourt, Oxfordshire. The role offers training with progression towards 12D qualifications and a monitored on-call roster.

You'll operate temporary traffic controls, set up cones and signs, and work to keep roadworkers and the public safe. A full driving licence and commitment to safety are essential; weekends and nights may be required.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with Chapter 8 regulations.
• Full driving licence with no more than 6 points.
• Must pass a drug and alcohol test.
• Able to work weekends, nights and be prepared to travel.
• M1/M2/M3/M4/M5/M6 qualifications or SLG Unit 2 may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain and remove temporary traffic management.
• Set up cones, signs, barriers and safety equipment.
• Keep roadworkers and the public safe at all times.
• Communicate with colleagues, clients and control teams.
• Work towards fully funded 12D qualifications.
• Gain hands-on experience by teaming with qualified operatives.

• OX29 5UX Witney -Within travelling distance from Reading, Swindon, Oxford, Chippenham, Devizes, Cirencester, Bicester, Banbury Hours: Guaranteed 48 HPW plus OT opportunities; must be flexible to work weekends!

Day shifts are typical, but flexibility is key

• you'll need to be open to evenings, nights, weekends, working away during peak periods, and joining the on-call rota, especially if you have access to a company van If you hold your M1/M2 Lantra qualifications or above, we would love to talk with you.

What we are looking for: As a Traffic Management Operative, the following requirements are essential!

Knowledge: Familiarity with Chapter 8 regulations.

Driving Licence: Full licence with no more than 6 points.

Any driving bans must have expired at least 5 years ago.

Testing: Must pass a drug and alcohol test (offer contingent on results).

Skills: Adaptability, flexibility, and meticulous attention to detail.

Flexibility: Able to work weekends, nights and work away, if and when required.

Mentor New Trainees: Share your knowledge and guide new team members as they learn the ropes.
