Job summary

Westmorland and Furness Council is seeking a Traffic Management Technician to support the coordination and processing of TTROs across the Westmorland and Furness highway network. You'll review applications, maps and traffic management proposals, working with colleagues, utility companies, contractors, event organisers and the public to ensure activities on the highway can take place safely and efficiently.

The role requires strong organisation, attention to detail, good IT skills with Microsoft

Qualifications

• Experience in administration, customer service, planning, logistics, highways or related field.
• Full training and support will be provided to develop knowledge and skills.

Responsibilities

• Process applications for TTROs (temporary road closures) across the Westmorland and Furness network.
• Coordinate with applicants, internal teams and external stakeholders for safe, effective traffic management.
• Review applications, maps and supporting information to resolve queries and ensure correct processing.
• Help deliver over 1,000 TTROs each year benefiting communities, businesses and local economy.
• Contribute to wider traffic management activities and permanent highway improvements where needed.
