Job summary

The Cumbria County Council in Kendal seeks an Assistant Traffic Management Technician to join the South Lakeland Traffic Management Team. This permanent, full-time role supports traffic management, parking and road safety schemes from initial investigation through to delivery.

You will gain exposure to a wide range of activities, with full training provided and opportunities to develop technical knowledge for a long-term career in the profession.

Qualifications

• Experience in traffic management, highways, engineering or project delivery is beneficial but not essential.
• Candidate should be organised, reliable and able to manage a varied workload.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service.

Responsibilities

• Support the preparation, design and delivery of traffic management, parking and road safety schemes.
• Prepare plans, works packages and supporting documentation for traffic management projects.
• Collect, review and analyse traffic, parking and road safety data to inform scheme development.
• Read maps, plans and technical information to support project delivery.
• Assist with TROs and TTROs processing and liaise with contractors.
• Engage with residents, councillors and stakeholders as part of consultations.
