An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Traffic Engineering Technical Lead to join Bristol City Council's City Transport service. This senior specialist role offers the chance to combine technical expertise, project leadership and stakeholder engagement whilst helping to shape and deliver traffic engineering solutions across the city. As the council's technical lead for Traffic Engineering and Traffic Regulation Orders (TROs), you will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, effectively and in accordance with current legislation and best practice.
Working closely with managers, project teams and stakeholders, you will provide expert advice on complex traffic engineering matters, lead high-profile projects and support the development of innovative solutions that contribute to Bristol's transport ambitions. You will oversee technical quality assurance, support decision-making at senior levels and help develop the knowledge and capability of colleagues across the service.
We're looking for an experienced traffic engineering professional with substantial technical expertise and a proven track record of delivering successful transport projects. You'll have a strong understanding of transport services and the legislation, policies and standards that underpin traffic engineering and Traffic Regulation Orders.
You'll bring expert knowledge of TSRGD 2016 and Traffic Regulation Order procedures, together with experience of leading complex projects, managing budgets and resources, and working collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders.
You'll be a confident communicator, capable of presenting complex technical information to councillors, stakeholders and members of the public, while also supporting and developing colleagues within the team.
Most importantly, you'll combine technical excellence with a proactive and solutions-focused approach, helping to deliver high-quality transport outcomes for Bristol.
