Job description

We are looking for a Trading Director that will lead the strategic and operational direction of the trading department, ensuring optimal performance and profitability. This key leadership role requires a deep understanding of market dynamics, risk management, and customer behavior to deliver competitive pricing strategies and robust trading operations. Collaborating closely with senior stakeholders, you will oversee the development of innovative trading models and systems while driving continuous improvement in processes and team performance. Your vision and expertise will be instrumental in maintaining Superbet's position as a market leader in the dynamic betting and gaming industry.

Responsibilities

  1. Responsible for day to day Trading Operations: You will work towards, and ultimately attain, a best in class approach to Trading across the department; fostering a data driven approach in a culture of accountability and ownership.
  2. Deliver a first-class sports betting offer, and customer experience: You will lead a large team, responsible for the events, markets, and odds that our customers enjoy. Making sure the coverage is competitive in the market, and that bets are settled quickly and accurately, with disputes resolved with a sense of urgency and fairness.
  3. Collaborate with Commercial and Product Functions: You have a clear understanding of what is important to the customer and will work closely with product and commercial to prioritise accordingly, from the day to day offer, all the way to long term strategic, technical roadmaps.
  4. Optimise profitability in the context of achieving sustainable growth: You’ll play a collaborative role in devising a pricing strategy that both grows the bottom line and also helps attain market share in competitive markets.
  5. Analyse and Report on KPIs: You will work closely with finance to ascertain ambitious KPIs, and will endeavour to be an outward facing department that regularly reports on performance, with a clear understanding of what drives any deviance from targets.
  6. Passion for sports-betting: You will have an inherent passion for sports and betting on sports, but will also be able to transmit this passion to the team, such that they are engaged and display a similar level of intensity for what we do.
  7. Evolve the department’s approach: In a competitive setting, build and maintain a department-wide attitude that sees best practice as a moving target within Trading, and never become complacent in this regard.
  8. Develop Talent: Instil a commitment to development amongst the team that continually demands high standards, but also gains satisfaction from locating and fostering talent.

Key skills:

  1. In-depth understanding of Trading and Sportsbook KPIs, products and success factors: You have extensive experience in similar roles and understand the drivers that create a successful sportsbook. You can demonstrate a track record of success in this regard.
  2. Strong leadership and communication skills: You will be responsible for a large and ever-evolving team, that will be the sportsbook hub for the company, and you must possess excellent communication skills, both personally and as a department.
  3. The ability to assist in the prioritisation and delivery of a roadmap: You bring extensive experience of working towards, and participating in the delivery of, ambitious roadmaps in an increasingly competitive and diverse marketplace.
  4. The ability to work under pressure: You have experience of running a 24/7 department, responsible for the sports P&L of the company, and possess the ability to make calm decisions in real-time, that are fair to the customer but also right for the company.
  5. Flexibility: You understand that, by nature, this isn’t an “office hours” role and you possess the ability and durability to stay dialled in, whilst also building a structure of capable people, to whom you can delegate appropriate responsibilities and tasks.
  6. Passion for sports-betting: You love what we do. And you do your utmost to remind others why they do, also.
