Job summary

North Devon College in Barnstaple is seeking a Practical Facilitator to support bricklaying, carpentry, joinery or maintenance practical sessions. You will prepare materials, maintain tools and assist learners as they develop practical skills and industry knowledge.

The role offers a route into teaching through a supported development programme with mentoring and a College-funded Level 3 teaching qualification.

Qualifications

• Got experience in bricklaying, carpentry, joinery or maintenance.
• You'll help prepare materials and workspaces for practical sessions.
• You may progress into teaching through a development programme with mentoring.

Responsibilities

• Preparing materials and resources for practical lessons and assessments
• Supporting teaching, learning and assessment in the workshop for apprentices and full-time learners
• Issuing, ordering and maintaining tools and equipment
• Manufacturing products to support learner assessments, including using machinery where required
• Help maintain a safe, well-organised and engaging workshop environment
• Support learners as they develop practical skills and underpinning knowledge
• For experienced candidates, take opportunities to teach as part of a supported development programme
