Job summary

FE College is seeking a Multi Skills Trainer to deliver predominantly practical Level 1 and 2 construction training, with a focus on Brickwork. You will support learners with varying abilities and provide hands-on instruction at the main campus.

Full teacher training and a clear route into education are provided, with a stable, long-term career path in a respected college setting.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualified in Brickwork or Carpentry (Level 2 considered with substantial industry experience).
• Strong hands-on trade background with ability to demonstrate techniques.
• Patient and confident when supporting learners of varying abilities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver practical Level 1–2 construction skills training, mainly Brickwork.
• Support learners with additional learning needs and behavioural challenges.
• Work Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week on main campus.
• Participate in a 45-minute interview with 15-minute micro-teach.

Are you a Bricklayer, Carpenter or Construction Tradesperson looking to get off the tools and move into a rewarding teaching role, with full training provided and a clear route into education?

This is a permanent position with a well-established FE College where you will receive full teaching and learner-support training, allowing you to build a long-term career in education while delivering hands-on, practical training to learners.

You will be based at the main campus, delivering predominantly practical Level 1 and Level 2 construction skills training. The role is primarily focused on Brickwork, although candidates from a Carpentry background will also be considered. You'll support learners with varying abilities, including those with additional learning needs or behavioural challenges, with limited classroom-based teaching.

This role would suit a practical construction professional who wants stability, structured hours and the chance to develop new skills, transitioning into teaching with full support and training provided.

The Role:

• Delivering predominantly practical Level 1 and Level 2 construction skills training
• Primarily Brickwork focused (Carpentry background also considered)
• Supporting learners with varying abilities, including additional learning needs
• Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week (main campus based)
• One-stage interview: 45-minute interview including a 15-minute micro-teach
