Job summary

RTS Infrastructure Ltd, part of Arriva Group, is seeking an experienced Contractor's Responsible Engineer (CRE) - Track to lead engineering assurance across rail track projects from Leeds. The role requires acting as Track CRE, coordinating with design teams and client representatives while ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety requirements.

You will travel for national projects as needed, oversee construction governance, and provide technical leadership during planning,

Qualifications

• HNC/HND or degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Experience delivering track engineering works within a rail infrastructure environment.
• Demonstrated suitability for Track CRE-C.
• Strong understanding of Network Rail engineering assurance and construction controls.
• Knowledge of CDM Regulations, Work Package Plans, ITPs and associated records.
• Ability to clearly communicate engineering requirements to site teams, subcontractors and clients.
• PTS certification where required and CSCS card.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Act as the nominated Track CRE for allocated projects and work packages.
• Provide engineering assurance throughout the construction phase of track infrastructure works.
• Ensure access to approved drawings, specifications, standards and information before works commence.
• Provide technical guidance and support to site teams during project delivery.
• Identify, manage and escalate engineering risks, constraints and interfaces.
• Coordinate engineering activities with other rail disciplines and stakeholders.
• Review methodologies, sequencing and delivery plans for compliance and buildability.
• Collaborate with Design CREs, CEMs and client representatives to resolve queries.
• Manage technical queries, engineering issues and changes throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support reviews, constructability assessments and project readiness activities.
• Review plans and risk assessments from an engineering perspective.
• Support possession planning and critical work sequencing.
• Attend site to provide engineering assurance and technical leadership.
• Ensure works comply with approved designs and specifications.
• Review inspection records and quality documentation for compliance.
• Support testing, commissioning, handback and project close-out.
