Job summary

RTS Infrastructure, based in Leeds, is seeking an experienced Contractor's Responsible Engineer (Construction) - Track (CRE-C) to join the project delivery team at Holbeck Depot. You will provide technical leadership, engineering assurance and construction support across rail infrastructure projects.

Reporting to the Senior Construction Manager, you will act as the nominated engineering lead for Track construction activities, ensuring safety, compliance and delivery against approved designs and

Qualifications

• HNC, HND, degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience delivering Track (Permanent Way) projects in a rail environment.
• Experience as CRE-C or eligible under Project Engineering Management arrangements.
• Knowledge of Network Rail engineering assurance requirements and construction standards.

Responsibilities

• Act as the nominated Track CRE-C for allocated projects and work packages.
• Provide engineering assurance throughout the construction phase of Track works.
• Ensure access to approved drawings, specs and information before works begin.
• Provide technical guidance to site teams and subcontractors.
• Identify and manage engineering risks, constraints and interfaces.
• Review construction methodologies for buildability and compliance.
• Liaise with Design CREs, CEMs and client reps to resolve issues.
• Manage technical queries, RFIs and site engineering issues.
• Support design reviews and interdisciplinary coordination.
• Review Work Package Plans, ISTs, risk assessments and method statements.
• Support possession and isolation planning and critical project activities.
