Job summary

RTS Infrastructure, based in Leeds, is seeking an experienced CRE-C to lead Mechanical & Electrical construction activities on major rail projects. You will provide engineering assurance, manage interfaces and ensure works meet designs, standards and safety requirements.

You will coordinate with design teams, client representatives and subcontractors, reviewing drawings, testing and handover documentation, and supporting commissioning and handback activities throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable experience delivering M&E works within rail infrastructure environments.
• Experience operating as, or suitability for appointment as, a CRE-C within project engineering management arrangements.
• Strong knowledge of Network Rail engineering assurance and construction standards.
• Good understanding of CDM Regulations and safe construction practices.
• Experience reviewing design information, technical queries, testing, commissioning and handover documentation.
• Strong communication skills with project teams, subcontractors and clients.

Responsibilities

• Act as the nominated CRE for Mechanical and Electrical engineering construction activities.
• Provide engineering assurance across electrical systems, power distribution, lighting, containment, cabling, earthing and bonding.
• Support HVAC, ventilation, heating, plumbing, fire systems and associated building services.
• Ensure access to approved drawings, specifications, standards and technical information.
• Provide technical guidance and engineering leadership to delivery teams and subcontractors.
• Identify, manage and elevate engineering risks, constraints and interface issues.
• Review construction methodologies, sequencing plans and buildability considerations.
• Collaborate with Design CREs, client representatives and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Manage technical queries, engineering changes and construction-related issues.
• Support possession planning, isolation planning, testing, commissioning and handback activities.
• Review inspection/test plans, risk assessments, method statements and permits.
• Ensure works align with approved designs, standards and specifications.
• Review commissioning documentation, quality records and handover information.
• Support investigation and resolution of non-conformances and technical issues.
• Contribute to project reporting, lessons learned and continuous improvement.
