Job summary

GlaxoSmithKline seeks a Trace Analysis and E&L Scientist to join its Stevenage/Ware operations. The role involves hands-on analysis of extracts and leachables using LC-MS/GC-MS and ICP-OES/MS, developing methods, and leading data interpretation and reporting for project work.

The successful candidate will work with a hybrid model, contribute to regulatory submissions, and coordinate CROs while advancing trace control strategies across projects.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemistry or a related scientific field.
• Hands-on experience in analytical lab work.
• Experience with LC-MS and/or GC-MS.
• Develop/validate analytical methods and generate high-quality data.

Responsibilities

• Perform targeted and non-targeted trace analysis of small and large molecules using mass spectrometry.
• Develop sample preparation approaches and strengthen analytical capability.
• Develop, optimise, validate or verify LC-MS and GC-MS methods for project needs.
• Assess extractables and leachables risk and deliver practical mitigation strategies.
• Lead analytical work from sample prep to data interpretation and reporting.
• Contribute to regulatory submissions and oversee CRO work packages.
