The practice is also increasingly involved in urban projects that focus on integrating developments within their surroundings. Client goals and visions remain central to every project, shaping both the approach and final outcome. • Provide guidance on local and national planning frameworks
  • Provide strategic advice on planning framework and law, developing strategies for approval of sensitive projects
  • Coordinate the preparation of Planning Statements, Design and Access Statements, and contribute to Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs)
  • Manage the preparation of supporting documents for development and infrastructure schemes, including Development Consent Orders
  • Assist clients with the planning process and provide solutions to overcome planning challenges
  • Negotiate with local authorities and key stakeholders
  • Provide strategies to internal teams and be a primary point of contact for planning related matters.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of industry experience, private or public sector
  • Proven background working on a variety of projects including historical/listed buildings and sensitive projects
  • Experience with projects across London and Hampshire, ideally with relationships in both locations
  • Client-facing experience and strong communication skills
  • Ideally degree qualified in town planning, urban design, or similar
  • MRTPI / MRICS, preferred but not essential.

What you get back

  • Salary of £40,000 - £55,000
  • 21 days of holiday, plus bank holidays and discretionary leave over Christmas
  • No staff are expected to work overtime, but if offered they will pay this at an increased rate
  • Employee assistance programme
  • The practice offers a variety of workplace activities and groups, such as ‘Woman in Architecture, Sustainability Working Group, and Historic Buildings Working Group’ – just to name a few!
  • Professional memberships paid for
  • Project trips, sketching sessions, social events, and charity fundraising
  • Flexible working with 3 days per week required in the office
