Tooling Maintenance Technician

Location: Sunderland

Shift Pattern: Days and Backs (likely to change to 3 shifts later this year)

Salary: Up to £41,000 per annum DOE

We are seeking a talented toolmaker to join the team of a growing manufacturing business based in Sunderland. The ideal candidate will be responsible for checking, repairing, and servicing all assembly and press tooling equipment to ensure smooth machinery operation.

Role & Responsibilities

1. Repair and maintain all assembly and press tooling equipment.
2. Perform scheduled and planned maintenance to reduce breakdowns and improve equipment performance and reliability.
3. Adhere to all legal and safety requirements, including PUWER power press regulations, lifting, and slinging.
4. Support procurement and management of spare parts and tools.
5. Assist in developing engineering apprentices through knowledge and skill sharing.
6. Lead planned maintenance activities, including technical improvement initiatives.

Candidate Requirements

• Proven experience in a toolmaker, tooling, or die maintenance role.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Structured, methodical approach to fault finding.
