Jewson, part of Stark UK, an industrial branch in Luton, is seeking a Small Plant Fitter / Tool Hire Mechanic. The role covers maintenance, servicing, and repair of small plant and tool hire equipment, including petrol/diesel engines and electrical tools. Hours are 7:00-16:30, Monday to Friday, with no weekends.

We welcome candidates from mechanical, electrical, automotive, or related hands-on backgrounds. Training, PPE, and career progression are provided within a supportive team.

Formación

• Previous experience in a mechanical, electrical, or engineering role.
• Ability to fault-find and problem-solve.
• Comfortable working with electrical systems and/or petrol & diesel engines.
• A proactive, reliable, and safety-focused approach.
• Willingness to learn new equipment and processes.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Responsabilidades

• Service, maintain, and repair small plant and tool hire equipment.
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults.
• Work on petrol and diesel engines as well as electrically powered tools.
• Complete routine safety checks and inspections.
• Prepare equipment to a high standard for hire.
• Carry out planned maintenance and breakdown repairs.
• Accurately complete job cards and maintenance records.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop.
• Support branch colleagues as part of a wider team.
