Job summary

Jewson, part of Stark UK, is recruiting a Tool Hire Manager for the Hull branch. This full-time role runs Monday-Friday 7:30–17:00, with every other Saturday 08:00–12:00. You will deliver tool hire operations, lead the team, and drive a 3.5 tonne van to fulfill orders.

You’ll engage with customers, manage inventory, and upsell to grow tool hire profitability while maintaining safety and service standards.

Responsibilities

• Deliver day-to-day tool hire activities and allocate resources for safe operations.
• Lead by example and develop relationships through regular customer interaction.
• Support the team to maximise growth through proactive cross-selling.
• Provide guidance and feedback to team members for development and quality service.
• Deliver and collect customer orders promptly and ensure equipment is loaded safely.
• Support colleagues in building knowledge of tool hire products.
• Maintain tool hire standards and inventory levels to meet customer needs.
• Supervise the branch tool hire team in support of the Branch Manager.
• Contribute to tool hire growth and profitability through selling and upselling.
• Drive a 3.5 tonne van to deliver and collect orders; a full UK driving licence is essential.

We are recruiting for a Tool Hire Manager, to join our thriving Jewson branch in Hull, HU7 0XU.

This is a full-time role working Monday-Friday7:30 –17:00, and every other Saturdayfrom08:00-12:00.

WhatYou’llBe Doing

• Deliver day-to-day tool hire activities, deploying resource to ensure efficient,effectiveand safe operations
• Lead by example in developing strong relationships through regular customer interaction, supporting the team to maximise growth through pro-active cross selling
• Provide guidance and constructive feedback to team members,assistingin their development and supporting them to deliver a high-quality customer experience
• Deliver and collect customer ordersin a timely manner, ensuring orders areaccurateand all equipment is secured and loaded/offloaded safelyin accordance withcompany procedures
• Support branch colleagues in building knowledge and competence in tool hire products
• Ensure tool hire standards are always maintained
• Ensure inventory and availability levels areappropriate tomeet customer needs, collaborating across the local network
• Supervision_-_Effective supervision of the branch tool hire team in support of Branch Manager
• Sales -Effective contribution to Tool hire growth & profitability vs target by actively cross-selling and upselling to customers
• As part of the role, you willbe requiredto drive a 3.5 tonne van to deliver and collect customer orders, so a full UK driving licence is essential.
