Jewson, part of Stark UK, is seeking a Tool Hire Assistant in Honiton to support customers with safe, well-maintained equipment and efficient service. The role requires driving a 3.5 tonne van, so a full UK licence is essential, with set hours Monday to Friday and alternating Saturdays.

You will deliver, collect, and load orders, perform checks, support colleagues, and help customers understand tool hire products. A positive, team-focused attitude is essential.

• Deliver and collect customer orders promptly and safely.
• Build relationships with customers and support sales growth through cross-selling.
• Perform pre-delivery checks and ensure tools are clean, safe and operational.
• Conduct basic repairs and inspections on tools and small plant.
• Complete delivery paperwork and maintain records accurately.
• Support colleagues with product knowledge and training.

As a Tool Hire Assistant at Jewson, you will play a key role in ensuring customers receive safe, well-maintained equipment and excellent service. As part of the role, you willbe requiredto drive a 3.5 tonne van to deliver and collect customer orders, so a full UK driving licence is essential.

This is a full-time role working Monday-Friday 07:00-16:30 or 7:30-17:00, with the requirement of working every other Saturday from 08:00-12:00.

WhatYou’llBe Doing:

• Deliver day-to-day tool hire activities, deploying resource to ensure efficient,effectiveand safe operations
• Lead by example in developing strong relationships through regular customer interaction, supporting the team to maximise growth through pro-active cross selling
• Deliver and collect customer ordersin a timely manner, ensuring orders areaccurateand all equipment is secured and loaded/offloaded safelyin accordance withcompany procedures
• Support branch colleagues in building knowledge and competence in tool hire product
• Conduct pre-delivery checks to ensure tools and machinery are clean, safe, and fully operational
• Complete all relevant delivery paperwork and record keeping
• Inspect, test, and carry out basic repairs on a range of tools and small plant (e.g., breakers, saws, mixers, access equipment)
