Job summary

You will supervise a Unit Tool Control team, manage tool issue/return, maintain inventories, and ensure calibrated equipment is available and compliant with aviation standards. The role emphasizes safety, audits, and timely provision of tools for maintenance schedules.

Qualifications

• Previous supervisory experience within logistics, aviation, defence, or military environments.
• Understanding of tool control processes within engineering, aviation, military, or logistics environments.
• IT literacy, including Microsoft Office applications and inventory management systems.
• Understanding of health and safety requirements, COSHH, tool control, and quality practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the Unit Tool Control team, ensuring safe and effective daily operations.
• Manage the issue, return, and accountability of all tools and equipment used in support of aircraft maintenance activities.
• Ensure all tool control procedures are carried out in accordance with company, contractual, and aviation regulatory requirements.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and tool tracking systems.
• Conduct routine tool audits, stock checks, and toolbox inspections.
• Oversee the management of calibrated tools and test equipment, ensuring certification remains valid and equipment is fit for use.
• Liaise with engineering teams to ensure the timely provision of tools and equipment to support maintenance schedules and operational demands.
• Prepare and maintain records, reports, and documentation associated with tool control activities.
• Support internal and external audits, ensuring all findings are addressed and tool control standards remain compliant.
• Act as the focal point for tool control matters, providing advice and guidance to engineers, supervisors, and management teams.
