Job summary

Wildflower Twickenham is seeking a dedicated Toddler Room Leader to guide a busy toddler room with energy and care.

You will lead a team, plan play-based learning, and support children's emotional, language and physical development while maintaining high safeguarding standards.

Qualifications

• Qualified with a full and relevant Early Years / Childcare qualification
• Experience working with toddler-aged children
• Confident leading a room or mentoring a team
• Knowledgeable about the EYFS and child development
• Calm, patient and confident with big emotions
• Creative, energetic and full of ideas
• Excellent communicator with children, families and colleagues
• Passionate about giving children the best start

Responsibilities

• Lead the Toddler Room with confidence, energy and consistency
• Create a fun, stimulating environment where children learn through play
• Plan exciting activities that encourage curiosity and exploration
• Support children's communication, language and physical development
• Build strong relationships with children and their families
• Lead, support and mentor the room team
• Ensure observations and planning reflect each child's interests and development

If you're an experienced Early Years professional who loves working with toddlers, enjoys leading a team and knows that sometimes the best learning happens when you're covered in paint, we'd love to hear from you.

This Role Is All About Toddlers

As our Toddler Room Leader, you'll create a warm, exciting and engaging environment where children feel safe to explore, experiment and become increasingly independent.

Toddlers are busy figuring out who they are and what they're capable of, and you'll be right there helping them along the way.

You’ll be:

• Leading the Toddler Room with confidence, energy and consistency
• Creating a fun and stimulating environment where children can learn through play
• Planning exciting activities that encourage curiosity, creativity and exploration
• Supporting children's communication, language, physical development and growing independence
• Helping children navigate those BIG toddler emotions with patience, warmth and understanding
• Building strong, trusting relationships with children and their families
• Leading, supporting and mentoring your room team
• Making sure observations and planning genuinely reflect each child's interests and development
• Ensuring high standards of care, safeguarding and wellbeing every day

Most importantly, you’ll understand that toddlers don’t always follow the plan. Sometimes the best moments come from following their interests, getting down on the floor and seeing where their curiosity takes you.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who is:

• Qualified with a full and relevant Early Years / Childcare qualification
• Experienced working with toddler-aged children
• Confident leading a room or supporting and mentoring a team
• Knowledgeable about the EYFS and child developmentCalm, patient and confident when dealing with big emotions
• Creative, energetic and full of ideas
• A brilliant communicator who enjoys working with children, families and colleagues
• Passionate about giving children the best possible start
