Job summary

Prospero Teaching Bristol seeks an experienced Toddler Room Leader to oversee a busy toddler room within a welcoming nursery. You will lead practice in line with EYFS, mentor team members, and develop strong relationships with families.

The role requires Level 3 Childcare, 5 years in nurseries, and a Level 5 is preferred. Immediate start, full-time hours, and competitive pay per hour with PAYE or umbrella payroll options are offered.

Qualifications

• Must-have Level 3 qualification in Childcare/EY
• Minimum 5 years' nursery experience
• Experience leading a room or supervising staff is desirable
• Level 5 qualification in EY or Leadership preferred
• Right to work in the UK and enhanced references required

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the toddler room, ensuring high standards of care and education
• Deliver engaging learning experiences in line with the EYFS framework
• Support children's development across emotional, social, physical and cognitive domains
• Mentor and support room staff to maintain best practice
• Build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues
• Ensure safeguarding and health & safety policies are followed
• Maintain observations, assessments and records of children

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the toddler room, ensuring high standards of care and education

• Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health & safety, and nursery policies

Essential Requirements

• Level 3 qualification in Childcare/Early Years (CACHE, NVQ, Diploma, or equivalent) - Mandatory
• Minimum of 5 years' experience working within a nursery setting - Mandatory
• Experience leading a room or supervising staff is highly desirable
• Level 5 qualification in Early Years or Leadership - Preferred
• Previous professional childcare experience - Mandatory
• Minimum of 24 months of referenceable employment history - Mandatory
• Professional references must be provided from company/professional email addresses only - Mandatory
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
• Right to work in the UK
• Strong communication, organisational, and leadership skills
