Job summary

Wildflower Twickenham is seeking a passionate Preschool Room Leader to inspire confidence and independence in preschoolers. You’ll lead a bright room, guide a supportive team and plan engaging, play-based experiences that build early literacy and numeracy.

Based at Wildflower Twickenham, this full-time role offers 38 hours per week all year, with a nurturing environment that values continued training, family partnerships and high standards of care.

Qualifications

• Must hold a full and relevant Early Years / Childcare qualification.
• Experience working with preschool-aged children.
• Proven ability to lead a room and mentor a team.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Preschool Room with confidence, energy and consistency.
• Plan and deliver engaging, play-based experiences that build confidence, independence and readiness for school.
• Support children's communication, social development, early literacy and numeracy.
• Mentor and support your room team to deliver high-quality practice.
• Build strong relationships with children, families and the wider Wildflower team.

This Role Is All About Preschool

As our Preschool Room Leader, you'll take the lead in creating a fun, engaging and purposeful environment where children can become confident and independent learners.

You'll be hands-on, inspiring and full of ideas, while supporting your team to deliver brilliant practice every day. From messy play and creative projects to developing communication, independence and those all-important school readiness skills, you'll help make every day count.

You'll be:

• Leading the Preschool Room with confidence, energy and consistency
• Creating an exciting environment where children can learn through play, exploration and discovery
• Planning and delivering engaging experiences that build confidence, independence and school readiness
• Supporting children's communication, social development, early literacy and numeracy
• Getting involved, getting messy and making learning fun
• Leading, mentoring and supporting your room team to deliver high-quality practice
• Building fantastic relationships with children, families and the wider Wildflower team
• Ensuring children receive the highest standards of care, safeguarding and wellbeing

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is:

• Qualified with a full and relevant Early Years / Childcare qualification
• Experienced in working with preschool-aged children
• Confident leading a room or supporting and mentoring a team
• Knowledgeable about the EYFS and what great school readiness looks like
• A natural leader who can bring energy, positivity and consistency to their team
• Creative, enthusiastic and full of ideas
• Passionate about giving children the very best start to their learning journey

Most importantly, we want someone who genuinely loves Early Years. Someone who gets excited when a child masters something they've been working towards and knows that sometimes the smallest moments are the biggest achievements.
