Job summary

Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an enthusiastic Specialist Tobacco Treatment Advisor to deliver stop-smoking support to patients and staff, using behavioural change approaches and aligned with latest guidelines.

The role includes training Band 3 advisors, contributing to service improvements, and promoting the service across the organisation to embed tobacco dependency treatment into clinical pathways.

Qualifications

• Educated to GCSE (or equivalent) grade C/4 or above in English and Maths.
• Level 4 qualification, or equivalent experience in providing health advice or similar.
• NCSCT smoking cessation practitioner training & specialist modules (Mental Health & Pregnancy)

Responsibilities

• Deliver tobacco treatment assessments, advice and support interventions using behavioural change approaches.
• Liaise with Medical, Pharmacy & Nursing staff to make NRT recommendations and ensure correct use.
• Train and develop Band 3 Tobacco Treatment Advisors and participate in teaching sessions for healthcare professionals.
• Provide advice on treating tobacco dependency and changes to health guidelines to all staff groups.
