Job summary

UHMBT is seeking a Band 5 Treating Tobacco Dependency Lead to head the Tobacco Dependency Service at Royal Lancaster Infirmary with cross-bay working. You will lead a team of practitioners, develop services, support clinical teams and help patients access life-changing cessation support.

The role requires leadership, experience with behaviour change, and a drive to improve health outcomes. Fixed-term 33 months, 37.5 hours per week, based in Lancaster.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent relevant experience.
• NCSCT Level 2 Smoking Cessation Training or willingness to undertake within 3 months of appointment.
• Health promotion or Quality Improvement qualification/training/experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Treating Tobacco Dependency Service across UHMBT and support delivery of NHS Long Term Plan.
• Provide clinical support, staff supervision and performance monitoring.
• Develop pathways with internal and external partners and drive KPI achievement.
• Deliver evidence‑based smoking cessation interventions and monitor service performance.
• Support patients, staff and partners to improve cessation outcomes across the Trust.
