Job summary

University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Stop Smoking Practitioner (0.8 WTE) based at Royal Lancaster Infirmary to join the 7-day Treating Tobacco Dependency Service. You will support patients to stop smoking through behavioural support and specialist advice.

Working with the Respiratory team and other inpatient specialties, you will deliver person-centred care, receive supervision, and contribute to service development. Travel across sites may be required.

Qualifications

GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent).
NVQ/Diploma Level 3 in Health Care or equivalent relevant experience
NCSCT Level 2 Training or willingness to undertake within 3 months
Experience working in a health or caring setting
Experience providing healthcare, healthcare advice or health improvement advice
Experience assessing, planning and reviewing care needs
Experience providing behavioural support or counselling
Experience working in a health improvement field

Responsibilities

Assess and deliver specialist stop smoking advice to patients.
Provide personalised behavioural support and referrals into community services.
Work with multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes and reduce smoking-related harm.
Receive supervision and annual appraisal.
Travel across Trust sites as needed.
