Job summary

Goffs Academy is seeking a highly organised Curriculum & Timetable Officer to support the construction, maintenance and optimisation of the school timetable, in partnership with the SLT. The role requires managing complex scheduling, resource allocation and data systems to deliver a smooth run of curriculum delivery.

You will contribute to GCSE/A-Level option blocks, annual rollovers and data reporting, ensuring safeguarding and equality are central to all activities.

Qualifications

  • GCSE English and Maths at grade C/4 or above, or equivalent
  • Proven experience in a secondary school administration, data, or operations role
  • Substantial experience using secondary school MIS
  • Advanced Excel capabilities (VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, Pivot Tables)
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • High level of IT literacy and ability to learn complex software quickly
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Direct experience constructing a complex school timetable using Arbor/Timetablr or equivalent (desirable)
  • Experience managing options processes and year rollovers (desirable)
  • Commitment to safeguarding and equality/diversity

Responsibilities

  • Support the annual construction of the whole-school timetable using scheduling software (Arbor/Timetablr) and collaborate with SLT
  • Manage in-year timetable adjustments due to staff changes, student choices, or curriculum updates
  • Optimise classroom, laboratory and sports facility usage to minimise room changes and travel time
  • Assist in creating GCSE/A-Level option blocks and subject allocations
  • Ensure the MIS is populated with curriculum structures, class lists and teacher assignments
  • Oversee end-of-year rollover and setup for the new academic year in data systems
  • Generate reports on class sizes, staff utilisation, and curriculum delivery costs for SLT
  • Act as primary contact for Heads of Department on scheduling queries and rooming requests
  • Resolve scheduling clashes with staff wellbeing and student outcomes in mind
  • Support organisation of Curriculum and Options events across all key stages
  • Provide admin support to SLT including managing email, calendars and stakeholder communications
