Job summary

Wright Staff in Pershore (Worcestershire) is seeking a skilled TIG Welder (141) to join a defence sector manufacturing team. You will weld aluminium and stainless fabrications, read drawings and set up equipment to exacting standards.

Working in a highly regulated environment, you will maintain certifications, meet project deadlines, and contribute to high-quality, safety-critical components for national defence.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience with TIG welding aluminium to tight tolerances.
  • Experience working to certified or highly regulated standards.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings accurately.

Responsibilities

  • Perform TIG (141) welding on aluminium fabrications ranging from 1.5mm - 30mm
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings accurately
  • Set up and operate TIG welding equipment safely and effectively
  • Conduct visual inspection of welds to BS EN ISO 17673:2022 standards
  • Work with the production team to meet project targets and deadlines
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment
  • Continue internal and external training to maintain qualification to BS EN ISO 9606

Salary £14.34-£18.50 per hour

Duties

Essential skills
  • Proven experience with TIG (141) welding aluminium
  • Experience working to certified or highly regulated standards
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work to fine tolerances
  • Good organisational and problem-solving skills
Desirable
  • Experience in Defence, Aerospace, Motorsport, or similar industries
  • Previous coding to ISO 9606-1/2
  • NVQ/City & Guilds in welding, fabrication, or a relevant engineering subject
